What is a digital legacy platform?
A service that helps you plan what happens to your accounts, documents and money after you die. Some write a legal will, some store information for family to find, and some check in with you and notify your next of kin if you stop responding.
Is a digital legacy platform the same as a will?
No. A will is a legal document. Many platforms organise information or help create a will, but a will only works if it is signed and witnessed as your local law requires. For a complex estate, use a regulated solicitor or attorney.
Why is Remayn listed first?
This page is about making sure family can find what you leave, not only writing a will. Remayn is built around that: it records your assets, names your next of kin and notifies them if you stop responding. The others do parts of the job well, and each is listed with its limits.
Which platform is best for the US?
It depends on what you need. Trust & Will is built for wills and trusts, Everplans and Trustworthy for organising information, and Will.com for a low-cost start. Check state coverage and current prices before you commit.
Which platform is best for the UK?
Farewill and Octopus Legacy both offer online will writing. Octopus Legacy lists FCA and SRA regulation on its site. For a complex estate, a regulated solicitor is usually the safer choice.
Which is best for Nigeria and Africa?
Remayn is built for Africa and the diaspora. Seedwills focuses on writing a Nigerian will, and Leadway Capital and Trusts offered online will writing from an established insurance group.
